Just Roll With It Baby

When life is too much, roll with it, baby
Don't stop and lose your touch, oh no, baby
Hard times knocking on your door, I'll tell them you ain't there no more
Get on through it, roll with it, baby
Luck'll come and then slip away, you've gotta move, bring it back to stay

You just roll with it, baby, come on and just roll with it, baby
You and me, roll with it, baby, hang on and just roll with it, baby

Roll with It
by Steve Winwood

Sophia and I packed for the weekend and met The Dadder at the new house in Carlisle. Geo was drilling this weekend but the girls made the best of their time. We unpacked and moved into several rooms of the house. After the boxes were cleared and the energy began to settle I was reassured that we could actually survive this move.

There are a lot of things about our new space that I love. The one-floor design is at the top of the list. Although we spend most of our time on the first floor of our current home, it seems like a huge relief to only have to clean one floor, and to have everything right there. No hidden spaces.... no stairs for kiddos to climb.

The second thing is the amount of light that pours in the house. Because I married Captain SafetyMan, all the shades are drawn (so the theives can't see that there is no furniture in the house, of course!) and I didn't realize, until this weekend, just how much light pours in the windows. It will be a nice break from our beautiful but very, very dark living room.

There is also some really nice hardware throughout the house. I love to decorate and redecorate but hardware has always been a tough one for me. If I could bring all the samples into my house and then choose I think I'd be alright...but having to picture your house in your head and then pick from a huge wall of hardware is a hard one for me.

There may not have been any furniture to sit on (which means that I complained of physical, third-trimester ailments) but Soph and I had a blast finding ways to entertain each other. Well, mostly I chased her around while she entertained me. It amazes me how a broom and dust pan can hold the attention of a toddler. Amazing.

So...we're just rolling with it, baby. Nothing we can do...just rolling with it...I promise we'll make it through.

It must be nice to always have a little pal to hang out with.

Glad to hear you are settling in. That looks like a wonderful sunspot for Soph to play in. And I really like the wood floor.
